The Lord is our strength.
Mary knew this: “With God, nothing shall be impossible.”
Ammon knew this: “I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things.”
Paul knew this: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
Christ himself invites all of us to experience the same thing: “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
We hope that you and your children will have some memorable experiences and meaningful conversations together this week centered around this beautiful truth!

Invite a volunteer to stand with their arms extended forward in front of them at shoulder height with their palms facing up. Gently place a book in their hands and instruct them to try to keep their arms in position as long as they can. (If this is too easy, slowly add more books so that it becomes difficult.)
Allow the volunteer to rest for a moment, then repeat the activity. This time invite a second volunteer to stand across from the first volunteer to help hold the books in position. Add even more books this time to show the combined strength of the two people working together.
After the activity, invite the children to return to their seats and then discuss the following questions.
1) What happened when two people were working together to hold the weight up? (They were much stronger together.)
2) Who is the strongest person you can think of? (Jesus/Heavenly Father!)
3) In the scriptures, has the Lord ever offered to use His strength to help us? (Yes, He has!)
Explain: The Lord doesn't want to leave us alone! He has invited us to join with Him and He has offered to use His strength to help us! Today we are going to talk about joining our hearts with the Lord so that we are working together with Him!
🎥 V I D E O : "Take My Yoke Upon You | Animated Scripture Lesson for Kids"
Say: “Now we are going to watch a video about an ox who had to pull a load that was too heavy for the ox. Let’s watch and see how the ox becomes strong enough to pull the load!”
Discuss the following questions after watching the video:
1) How did the ox become strong enough to pull the load?” (The ox was yoked together with another ox so that they could work together.)
2) What is a yoke? (It’s a board that joins oxen together so that they can work together as one.)
3) What has the Lord invited us to do? (To take His yoke upon us.)
4) Why do you think the Lord is inviting us to join with Him? (Because He loves us and He wants to help us. He doesn’t want us to have to pull a heavy load all by ourselves.)

3) What are some things we can do to join ourselves together with the Lord and take His yoke upon us? (We can make covenants with Him through ordinances like baptism and the sacrament. We can learn of Him. We can have faith in Him and try to do what He asks us to do.)
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
1) Who is talking in this verse? (The Apostle Paul is talking.)
2) How did Paul have enough strength to do everything that the Lord commanded him? (By joining together with Jesus Christ. He could do all things because of his faith in Christ.)
"And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them."
1) Who is speaking in this verse? (Nephi.)
